You are Always on His Mind!

If your Valentine’s Day wasn’t all that you had hoped for, leaving you feeling lonely, you are not alone. Many girls hope for their knight in shining armour to whisk them off of their feet for a romantic night filled with fun, excitement and gifts. Instead, many are left disappointed.

When we put our trust and hope in humans we will be let down more often than we would like.

The truth is, we too let the people we love down. We may have good intentions, but the reality is that we are fallible beings that easily misunderstand each other. The only one who really knows the true desires of your heart is the one and only, God!

This summer we spent some time swimming at the beach and on one occasion I was sitting next to my son sifting through the sand with some of his toys. As I watched the grains of sand run through my finger, I was in awe thinking about how vast sand really is. It is amazing how many teeny, tiny grains can fill just one small beach pail. If I tried, I would not even be able to count the grains of sand in the palm of my hand. Then I was reminded of God’s word. Sand is mentioned several times in scripture relating to the vastness and immeasurable amount of something.

The thoughts that God has toward me are innumerable just as the sand on the beach.

How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me! Psalms 139:17-18

Sometimes we feel as if God doesn’t even know we exist. We assume that our lives are too meaningless for the creator of the world to bother with us.

The truth is, He cares about all of His creation, and that means you!

Earlier in Psalm 139 we learn that God knows everything about us! When you feel alone, or unloved know that God is thinking about you!

God knows your likes and your dislikes. He knows what is most important to you and He knows the hidden things of your heart. He knows what He created you for and how He is going to fulfill His promises in your life. He even knows your favourite number.

I encourage you today to read through the entire chapter of Psalms 139. Make it personal! Know that God is on your side.
