Faith that Works

Are you as pumped and excited about the New Year as I am?

I am determined that this year is going to be even better than the last! Not because I am going to make things happen, but because we are going to make things happen. When I use the word 'we', what I mean is that making things happen is going to be a joint effort on my part AND on God's part.

So many times we sit back and simply believe.  We attempt to channel our belief towards a goal, expecting God to jump in and just make it all happen. I'm sorry to disappoint you, but that's not how faith works. Faith is a joint effort. It requires belief and work on our part, and God's immense power on His.

This is why the Bible says, without faith it is impossible to please God (Heb 11:6). God wants us to so badly believe in something, that we eagerly start the impossible work ourselves, yet expect Him, He who makes all things possible, to step in and finish it.  This is what puts a smile on God's face!

It's as simple as A,B,C.

A. You must first know, God is the Author of our Faith. He first plants the seed or the idea, then He waits for you and I to recognize it.

B. Believe in the seed. Your seed could be a dream, a vision, or a goal- you put a name to it and believe in it! The proof that you believe in it, is when you decide to do something about it. This is what we call working our faith- getting up and doing something about the seed

C. In all our doing, expect God to step in and supernaturally provide the power or the ability to complete it. God is a Finisher (Heb 12:2)! He completes every good work He calls us to (Phil 1:6).

"In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead (James 2: 17)".

We are not talking about magic here. We're talking about God's innate ability to make things happen through us as we choose to walk out our belief.

This is a great way to begin the year! Start it off right by tapping into the kinda faith that brings results!

May You and Your Family Have a Wonderful Faith Filled Year!
