Live Free from Regrets
As I reflect back on this year I am amazed at how full of grace it was. Were there things that I wish I did differently? Yes! Were their lessons I wish I learned quicker? Absolutely!
Do I wish there were less challenges? To be honest, not really!
Without the challenges my faith wouldn't have been stretched, my prayer life may not have deepened and I wouldn't have learned that with God's grace I can accomplish more than I realized.
Take a moment and reflect on what this past year has meant to you.
Maybe this year brought you challenges that took you to your knees.
Perhaps you were faced with disappointment or heartbreak.
Maybe your year went pretty well but you are now realizing you didn't even enjoy it.
Sometimes everything is going well but because we carry the heavy burden of the past on our back we walk around weighed down.
Paul knew what it meant to look forward and not let the stains of his past keep him from making progress.
"...one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."
Do you think Paul could have accomplished all he had done for the gospel if he was hung up on his past?
Not a chance.
He pressed FORWARD.
We can look back on our mistakes and learn from them but we cannot allow them to paralyze us from moving forward.
Regret will take you out of your destiny!
As this year comes to an end, take time to process what it has meant for you.
Allow both the good and bad experiences propel you forward with greater hope and purpose for the year ahead.
Don't let the past hold you down any longer. Its a new day and a fresh start!
Walk into 2018 with joyful expectation!
Happy New Year! 🌟
